DZXL: Ngayong napatalsik na sa pwesto si Chief Justice Renato Corona ay naghahari-harian na umano si PNoy. Ayon kay Atty. Alan Paguia, dating abugado nidating pangulong Joseph Estrada, asahan na mawawala na rin ang check and balance kapag nakaupo na ang appointee ni PNoy.

DZMM Teleradyo: Nagdala umano ng matinding takot sa hudikatura ang naging hatol kay Chief Justice Renato Corona. Ayon kay Supreme Court (SC) Dep Court Administrator Antonio Eugenio, masyadong pinersonal ni Pang Benigno Noynoy Aquino III ang kaso laban kay Corona na nagmistulang martial law gamit ang buong pwersa ng pamahalaan. Hindi lamang anya si Corona ang naapektuhan o maaapektuhan ng pagpapatalsik sa punong mahistrado kundi ang buong hudikatura. Sinang-ayunan naman ito ng Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) at iginiit na posibleng kabahan ang iba pang mahistrado ng korte suprema na sumuway o sumusuway sa pangulo.

What we have now is not government of laws but flaws in government. Lessons learned: if your an enemy of PNOY- get impeached in 3 hours and senate will accept it without pre-trial; expect prosecution to witch-hunt for witnesses in evidence; get ready to be mauled and demonized by yellow media; expect surfacing of 'anonymous' couriers of unverified docs, be ready to get rock-bottom ratings  from SWS in false asia; expect direct attacks from PNOY in all his speeches; expect BIR, LRA, COA, DOJ, AMLC and Ombudsman to go after anybody similar to your family name; family  feuds, mistresses will surface; expect longer time frame for prosecution and shorter for your defense; don't get sick when you testify- just vomit in the session hall; expect convict votes from Drilon, Pangilinan, Angara, Lacson, Osmena, and Trillanes even before start of trial and most important: you are GUILTY until proven innocent!

This a trial where everybody lost. Chief Justice Corona maybe guilty in the eyes of the senator-judges but it is THEIR GUILT that will stay forever. The effects of their judgement will be weighed by history. Biggest loser is the PUBLIC- the poor people lost, the unemployed lost, hungry people lost, luisita farmers lost. They lost the judiciary - their only hope for protection destroyed by the CO-MINGLED powers of the executive, the legislative and oligarchic media outlets/survey groups. They are poised to strike anew and continue to assert elite rule and mutilate democratic safeguards that will hamper their speed in navigating their deceitful tuwid na daan path to unopposed power. A disservice to the "people  power" victory as claimed by the mother of the OJT president.

TEDITORIAL: This was not impeachment as a political process, but a political assassination masquerading as a judicial procedure, ever mindful of judicial rules, above all respectful of due process that no citizen can be denied however high or low. That is why the senators wore the costumes of judges to look like trial but a long execution carried out by the legislature at executive  behest. What the senate did today will decide whether ours shall thenceforth be a government of laws and of separated powers or a government of whimsy and one-gang rule; whether ours shall be a government  of limited powers or of powers as far as a president's ambition will go. Judicial decision will change with time; political actions will harden with expedient repetion. And this is a government of expediency galore. It all came down to the question: can the chief justice be impeached for this interpretation of the law that his accusers completely agree with by not signing their own waivers? This is hypocrisy and a violation of the equal protection of the law.
