ANC: Legal experts say prosecution disappointing... presenting documents without anyone to authenticate them. Atty. Romy Mac says, "Dito nakikita kahinaan nila... They did not have the proper witness to authenticate their evidence." Dean Amado Valdez adds, "Yung mga prosecutors wala masyadong practice."
Statement of Atty. Anacleto Diaz: Former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is saddened by today's news that the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee in its Report recommended the filing of plunder charges against her and officials of the PCSO. The former President has never used her position to enrich herself. The Senate Report recklessly disregarded the point that former Pres. Arroyo did not amass, accumulate or acquire any amount of the Confidential and Intelligence Funds of the PCSO which was the subject of the Senate did not even consider the fact that the PCSO during her administration reached unprecedented levels in revenues and benefits extended to the various charities, health and medical programs granted to our people. We are hopeful that the Ombudsman, who has a reputation for probity and independence, will be consistent with the fundamental requirements for fair play and due process.
ANC: Hacienda Luisita farmers worried that if CJ Corona is ousted, an Aquino-friendly SC will reverse the lankmark 14-0 vote to distribute the sugar estate.
ANC: Zambales Rep. Mitos Magsaysay tells Pres. Aquino to focus on the oil price hike instead of Corona impeachment.
It's ridiculous if not malicious that the prosecution suddenly want to tackle article no 2 instead of article 1. what broke the camel's back is that they're not even prepared for article 2's required documentary evidences. The prosecution's unpreparedness and confusing intents brought the house down and elicited laughter's and even disappointments from prosecution allies like Erin TaƱada.
Today's impeachment proceedings is a waste of resources and time. Prosecutors admitted that they are unprepared to present article 1 or even article 2 which they requested to first present. We the taxpayers are the victim of the circus. We pay for the grand standing of the prosecutor representatives and re electionist senators. It is now crystal clear that there is no genuine issue against the Chief Justice.
Why allan peter cayetano lawyering for the prosecution? Why did he let his color show this early?
