Isa-isa nang sinagot ni Supreme Court (SC) Chief Justice Renato Corona and walong articles of impeachment na isinampa ng Kamara laban sa kaniya. Sa kaniyang 79 na pahinang tugon sa impeachment complaint, unang iginiit ni Corona na hindi siya kailanman nagtaksil sa bayan at pawang walang basehan ang mga alegasyon o di kaya'y pawang mga opinyon lamang ang napakaloob sa reklamo. Nilagdaan ito ng anim na de kalibreng mga abogado na kinabibilangan nina Ret. SC Associate Justice Serafin Cuevas, Atty. Jacinto Jimenez, Atty. German Lichauco II, Atty. Ernesto Francisco Jr. at Atty. Dennis Manalo, Atty. Jose Roy III na dating dean ng College of Law ng Pamantasang Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM). Sa panimula pa lamang ng tugon ni Corona, tila tinatawag ang pansin ng mga senador sa kwento ni Pontio Pilato na naghugas kamay at bumigay sa sigaw ng iilang maiingay.

President Aquino announced that he will hold local officials responsible for the tragedy that has killed 1,249 persons so far as Cagayan de Oro (674) victims and Iligan City (448) fatalities. And if top officials of ARMM, DENR and PNP are responsible, shouldn't the President also accept responsibility? The buck stops at the President's desk. In blaming CDO Mayor Vicente Emano and Iligan Mayor Lawrence Cruz, he may just be pointing one finger at himself!
